That's because the D-450 Zoom can shoot non-stop, without pausing between shots, just like a traditional film camerabut without sacrificing the convenience and quality you've come to expect from Olympus' award-winning filmless digital cameras.
As easy to use as pointing and shooting, the D-450 Zoom doesn't just let you take pictures rapidly, it lets you take great pictures. With an optical 3X glass aspherical zoom lens, 2x digital telephoto, pop-up 5-mode variable flash, and a resolution of 1.3 million megapixels, it's packed with all the features you need to make sure you'll always get the shot you want. And with the D-450's new, brighter and easier to view LCD screen, you can see your pictures as soon as you take themeven in bright light or from an angle. The LCD also displays pictures in a 4, 9 or 16 image index or allows magnification up to 3x, for inspecting all the details.

The compact D-450 Zoom is packed with features:
- 3x Olympus f 2.8-4.4 optical zoom (equivalent to a 35-105mm zoom on a 35mm film camera) and 2x digital telephoto at all focal lengthsfor up to 6x magnification
- View subjects clearly with either real-image optical zoom viewfinder (with dioptric correction) or through the Wide-View LCD
- Easy push button panorama mode lets you use the enclosed software to "stitch" together images for a broad scenic vista
- Use the Macro mode for photographs as close as 8 inches
- 5-mode variable pop-up flash with red-eye reduction, for natural-looking pictures in even the most challenging conditions
- Advanced features include selectable center weighted or spot metering, Automatic Exposure with +/- 2-step exposure control in 1/2-step increments, equivalent ISO settings of Auto, 160, 320 and 640, White Balance (Full TTL Automatic, Preset Manual: Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten and Fluorescent)
Download images and control camera functions easily from a computer:
- 8MB Olympus SmartMedia" removable memory card included, storing up to 122 images
- Download images quickly through the included serial cable (RS-232), or use the optional FlashPath Floppy Disk adapter or PCMCIA card
- Use optional 8, 16, and 32 MB 3.3 volt Olympus SmartMedia cards for exposure lock, panorama "stitching" function and fast write times
Flash System
The D-450 Zoom's flash system features five versatile flash modes that make it easy for anyone to take great photographs:
- Auto Flash fires automatically in low light or back-light, to help ensure the illumination is appropriate
- Red-Eye Reduction Flash Mode emits a series of pre-flashes right before the shutter snaps, allowing the subject's eyes to adjust to the light level of the flash-reducing the red-eye effect
- Slow Synchro Flash Mode for shots requiring long exposure
- Fill-In Flash Mode softens the sharp contrasts, for a more natural look in photos when your subject is in both bright light and dark shadow
- Flash Off Mode is available when flash photography is not permitted or to allow for up to ? second exposures, for shots like sunsets and night scenes
Software
The D-450 Zoom comes with Adobe PhotoDeluxe" image manipulation and creation software, Enroute QuickStitch panorama stitching software, Olympus Camedia Master software (for downloading images from the camera), and instruction manuals. All software supports both Windows (95/98/NT 4.0) and Macintosh (OS 7.6.x and greater) systems, and is year 2000-compliant.
Using the imaging software that comes standard with the D-450 Zoom, you can:
- Print, view, and email your photos to family and friends
- Create sweeping panoramas by "stitching together" individual photographs
- Crop, retouch, and manipulate photos on your computer
- Create cards, catalogs, calendars, screen savers, slide shows and more with simple on-screen instructions
