Olympus C-2020ZOOM Digital Camera
The 2.1 million pixel C-2020ZOOM doesn'tsimply expand the functions offered by itspioneering predecessor - it breaks newground!
The possibilities of digital photography are positively broadened by the C-2020ZOOM. Ensuring capture of the sharpest possible pictures with up to 3x optical zoom magnification, is a precision 1/2 inch 2.1 megapixel CCD. An extraordinary list of inclusions encompasses a wide range of control options such as focus, exposure management, ISO equivalent sensitivity and white balance - all of which can be regulated either manually or automatically. Topping the model's inventory of innovations are the black and white / sepia modes, and the facility to shoot video sequences.

Yet again, Olympus expands the possibilities of digital photography with its C-2020ZOOM. The second model in the C-2000ZOOM series impresses with a host of remarkable features. Not only does it offer camera options such as manual focusing, exposure and the ability to take black and white photos, but it is also the first CAMEDIA camera that can shoot video sequences.
Employing QuickTimeR* Motion JPEG capability, it is able to produce video shots at 15 frames/sec. with a resolution of 160 x 120 pixels lasting up to 60 seconds. These moving images can then be built into a homepage or presentation, for example.
Giving the photographer even greater control over the final result, the C-2020ZOOM includes an array of new adjustable options. A 130 step manual focus system covers any distance between 0.2 and infinity while a manual exposure, slow synchronisation and a shutter speed reaching to 16 seconds, add to the creative possibilities. Sequence mode has similarly been improved.
Thanks to the sepia and black and white modes, amazing monochrome results can be achieved. A blackboard/whiteboard mode is also available.
Ensuring first class photos, the 3x optical zoom camera is additionally equipped with auto bracketing. This automatically shoots images in several different exposures to guarantee the best results in difficult light conditions. An intelligent ESP (selective multi-zone) auto white balance system also delivers super colour accuracy.
The advanced sequence shooting mode allows up to 49 shots to be taken at 1.4 frames per second, making it ideal for capturing every bit of the action.
An enhanced LCD-monitor featuring a wide-viewing angle will let even a group of people see the screen at the same time. Other external improvements include a re-designed operation and mode dial for more ease.
Easy to use and packed with a wide range of new features the CAMEDIA C-2020ZOOM is sure to enrich the already impressive Olympus compact zoom series. Compatible with 64 MB SmartMedia cards, the 2.1 megapixel camera is planned for release at the beginning of 2000.
