AIWA MM-FX500
TOKYO - Aiwa Co., Ltd. has introduced the MM-FX500, the world's first portable MP3 recorder.
The MM-FX500 features all the functions of portable MP3 players that use personal computers to record audio signals. But it features the first built-in encoder that compresses audio signals from analog output terminals on audio equipment (mini component systems, record players, cassette tape players, radios, etc.) to the MP3 format. Now anyone can encode analog signals to MP3, without a personal computer.
Aiwa expects the MM-FX500 to help expand its market share in the "silicon audio" market, which is growing rapidly all over the world. The product was developed along with DnC Tech Inc., a South Korean venture company.

* DnC Tech Inc. (President: Hans Park), a Seoul-based company established in 1998, has developed a range of multimedia and MP3 encoding solutions. The company was recently honored with an award from South Korea's Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy.
